Bible Study series: Lessons from the book of Jude
Jude, the brother of James, writes to believers intending to share with them the joy of salvation but is nonetheless forced to focus on the error that has crept into the church. In my study, the main theme I derived from the epistle is the judgment of God. He passionately reminds believers that as much as God is a loving Father who is full of grace, He also renders righteous judgment to evildoers. Here are some of the practical lessons I captured in my study of the Epistle of Jude
1. Believers have to fight for the faith amid obvious contamination and error. Jude 1:3
2. As much as God is loving, He is also a God of judgment. He judged ancient men, cities, and even angels who fell into falsehood and corruption. In the same way, He will judge those who transgress in the present. The fate of immoral people is eternal fire. Jude 1:5-7
3. We should not practice Second heaven warfare against fallen angels. We must rebuke the devil whenever he interferes with activities here on earth, just as Archangel Michael did. But we should not blaspheme against spiritual beings. Jude 1:9
4. In His second coming as prophesied by Enoch, the Lord will be accompanied by thousands of His saints. Does this suggest a rapture of the saints before the end of the tribulation? He will come to judge the world. Jude1:15
5. Praying in the Holy Ghost builds us up as believers. Jude 1:20
6. It is our responsibility as believers to pull those who are falling into eternal condemnation out of the fire. We should do so with caution and compassion. Jude 1:23
7. Jesus can keep us from falling and He will present us faultless to the Father. Jude 1:24
